a strike preparation camp

Brussels, 8 - 18 december 2014

Interruptions: A Strike Preparation Camp  opens   ten days of performances, screenings, workshops, lectures and reflections on the idea of strike, during  the week of the first general strike.

What do we produce when we stop to produce?

Is the strike an action or the interruption of an action?

If we imagine reality to be a surface, , made of endless inclinations that determine movements and trajectories within it, then the proper task of performance is perhaps that of constructing the movements that can refigure the surface, releasing unimagined lines of flight,  opening up gaps between the permitted and the possible.

In a time of strikes, Aleppo opens a public program on  the power of  interruptions.

With Eyal Weizman,  Jacques Rancière,  Ariella Azoulay,  Erdem Gündüz,  Sarah Vanhee,  Silvia  Bottiroli,  Livia  Andrea  Piazza,  Sophie  Klimis, Sarah and Charles, Nico Carpentier, Samah Hijawi,  Fleur Courtois, Aline Wiame, Sonja Lavaert, Santiago Cirugeda.

All encounters are open and free.    All activities are in English, when not differently indicated.

For he workshop of Erdem Gündüz  please send an email to hello@aleppo.eu
